Headlight Mod question

I've been wanting to open my headlights and paint my chrome black. I was looking at evilution's site just now and thought about just removing the chrome reflector. Instead of painting the chrome, just reassembling without it. If I still keep the indicator reflectors, I should be have a safe amount of brightness coming out. Mainly I'm hoping to have a little more industrial look, but a much easier time reverting to stock if the situation arrises.

I think that is possible, but might not look pretty IMHO.
I found some pictures I took when I painted my headlights. That how it is will look, minus silica gel packs.

Out of curiousity, did you tuck a couple of silca packets away inside before you resealed to help with condensation issues? I was kinda wondering about trying that and you pic offered the perfect opportunity.

Yep, I did put few silica gel packs in the headlights as a precaution measure.
You can easily put them in and take them out from the back of the headlight. So, technically you do not need to do it BEFORE sealing your headlights.
It is late and I hope it is make sense.

I wouldn't call it easy... but if you have the right tools and take the time your headlights will be the talk of the town...

This is what we ended up with last Sunday.

Having a professional with a paint gun and clear coat makes all the difference... We did the white, a red version and a yellow set... The look INSANE!!!!!

Sweet!! Afraid though that I'd botch the dis-assembly/reassembly, not to mention having to use 'PAINT' !!

It wasn't easy but the end result was well worth it... Although I must admit that with a sprained ankle I wasn't much help.
