1. not a race car... at least yet... hayabusa engine swap is next on the list.
2. There are hundreds of tachs to choose from. That was my own personal preference, I just wanted to show you guys how it could be done, should you want to choose any other make/modle of tach because the install would be the same way.
yes I understand that but do you realize it will still be slow with the hayabusa motor. I mean you will beat people to 60 foot mark but thats about it. Yes bring up the fasct it beat a ferrari off the line yes off the line not in a quarter mile no way. It will more than likely run like 13's in the quarter
Wow, I started doing a search for hayabusa conversions and there are a ton of people on here that hate the idea ha ha. If nothing else, at least I got an education on how to put guages in the wee car.
I like the guages you have on the pillar post. Did you use mechanical or electric? What brand? And where did you tap in for temp and oil pressure? thanks
I sell the guage pods, and the guages, they are both made by autometer. I used a brass tee which I sell and put it just above the oil filter where the stock oil pressure switch goes. As for the water temp I have an adapter that I sell for the smart car $20.00 and you cut your water line and put it inline. Here is the thread that I did when I did the water temp and oil pressure..
I bought a tach from Harbor Freight that looks like it would fit in looks wise
It's only 4/6/8 cylinders switchable.
I tried to open it but it seams sealed. Would Tach Adaptor 9117 be the answer that I'm looking for?
HGB, I'm sure that it will work, the only catch is converting your tach to 1.5 pulse.... I emailed autometer 2 days ago for you, asking them if they could do the mod for you and what they would charge... 4/6/8 cyl tachs usually read 4/6/8 pulse.... As soon as I hear back from autometer I will let you know.
This is a great thread now that Ernie is working on a TURBO at Breathless Performance.
Let's see if someone builds a molded A-column 3-gauge pod cluster for boost, oil, AFR like the Honda Civic. Then add a Insanely HUGE 5" tach with shift light.
