Don't mean to be spoil sport, but...

...you want to have that flex pipe on the other side of your mount.

Think of it this way: The flange that is bolted on to the catalytic converter is still going to vibrate with the engine. But you are still trying to hold that part of the pipe rigid with the hanger that is welded onto the elbow.

Sure, it is better than what you had, but the end result is still that you have a vibrating piece that you are trying to hold rigid.

PS -- I should have read Hlf Pnt's reply before I posted. He found this out the hard way....

Kill the source of vibration/movement

We are working on a stiffer engine mount with poly bushings --- once thats on the engine it will not be able to shake itself so much under load.

While the flex pipe helps the true source is the super soft rubber engine mount --- stiffer mount will fix this

I think there are a couple of threads about stiffer mounts. There's a reason the OEM mounts flex like they do. Less flex, more vibration transmitted into the rest of the car. For a race car, fine. 500 miles a day on the road, not so much.

Agreed, but the stock bottom front engine mount is a true flexible flyer. Could be a bit more stiff......... the mount, that is.
