I want a quieter dual exhaust!

Hello there,

I'll get right to the point: I read repeatedly that the DTH dual tip is significantly quieter than the single tip DTH but what I want to know is if the DTH dual is quieter than the BPP touring version.

I sent an e-mail to DTH requesting the DB rating and they replied that it is "under 90" which to me means its in the high 80's. Anybody know the DB rating for the BPP touring version?

Why can't the vendors just make a bigger muffler with more packing to solve such a simple problem? Anybody know how much the dual Brabus exhaust cost and where it can be found? I know that thing must be quiet since it is OEM on the Brabus version. I might end up just buying one of those instead if the vendors don't tone it down.

This might be what you need:

As quite as stock, a lot cheaper than a Brabus and easy to fit as well.

I now have the Evil Twin exhaust. Finish is not as nice as on the BPP, but it is much quieter, and, in my opinion, much better suited to the smart's performance level.

I think you may have it backwards... I've heard both dual tip offerings form BPP and DTH as well as the single tip DTH that I have on my smart and the BPP stealth all in person... The dual tips are much louder than the single tips... My wife (it's her daily driver) isn't all that into loud anything... if the DTH were that loud she wouldn't have let me put it onto the car. If you want something that sounds good and gives the car some added kick with out being to loud then the DTH single is what you're looking for.

I was actually looking for a dual tip because I think it looks a lot better. Too bad that thing doesn't fit.

From what I've heard the BPP stealth exhaust is just as loud as their dual tip.
