Installed Eibach springs...BE CAREFUL!!!

Hey gang, I just installed my Eibach springs and wanted to set this warning out there for all to see. I will post some pictures up in a bit, but right now I am using my phone to type this...

First piece of advice to everyone is to install your rear springs first and then drop the car back down and give it a quick drive around the block a couple of times. Most of you will probably like what you see and feel afterward. If you like where the car is sitting after the first day DO NOT attempt the front springs! It is MUCH more involved than the rear! That said, if you must install the front springs please contact me so that you don't mess something up that will cost you big...like I did...

More to come... Be blessed

Austin

FYI- My HR springs cost me $250 to have installed. Which included alignment etc. Well worth the money.

Smart Center Portland did a great job installing my springs. The first attempt discovered that Eibach had bad catalog numbers for the springs and they just didn't fit. When Eibach got things straightened out and got the first "real" sets to the US, mine was one of the first to go in. I heard there's a special tool needed to keep the front springs from spinning during extraction or install. Also, as with all springs, there are some pretty serious forces when removing the old set.

Eagerness is no substitute for care and experience which is why I was more than happy to have my Smart Guru take on the fun of the install. As an engineer, I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty but I'm happy to have greater experience available to me in the form of a great professional at my Smart Center.

Me and a buddy installed the H&R springs and it was a pain for the front. But now I am sitting pretty and the ride is excellent. I have always used Eibach in the past, but almost every post I read in this forum said it was the WORST ride. It is hard to see the CF rear wing but that is another story.

Sorry to hear about your experience.

We use and install Eibach springs and have had no issues with them for about a year. You are correct, the front install is a bit difficult and best left up to a shop. We offer this service to our So California customers.

We have also developed our own set of springs and are having them manufactured by a well known company in Germany (in business for over 40 years) that manufacturers springs and private labels for many high end brands and cars.

We designed the set to give you a bit nicer ride and the drop is .8 in the front and 1.2 in the back. It levels out the car a bit better than the other set ups out there. Our installer stated that it was easier to install than the Eibach springs we have been installing. The springs are on our car right now undergoing testing (so far they are great) and should be available very soon.

Thanks!

Any plans for a complete springs & shocks handling kit (a la Brabus)?

Yes, but the shocks are going to come a bit later along with sway bars.
