installed.eyelids for only 10 bucks!!!

I figured that the eyelids they sell for 150+ dollars was way out of my budget so I took it upon myself to make custom ones out of vinyl. They came out great and were only 10 dollars. I will post pics up when I get some

What are eyelids? Are they some exterior mod that is put over the headlight?

not hard at all. I went to your local sign shop and bought 2 ft of vinyl. Cut it to my taste and prepared a water with kitchen soap as an applicator. Remove the back of the vinyl to expose the sticky part. Dip it in the soapy water and place on the headlight. With a credit card and a blowdrier start taking away the water left on the vinyl and it will stick perfectly. I am also in the process of placing the vinyl on the gas cap. After all the vinyl is the same color as the car

Forgive my stupidity...is this for esthetics only, or is there a functionality?

for looks only and it doesn't affect light ouptut. When you turn on your lights you can barely see the vinyl. It's for show and looks purposes
