Not only that even you accidentally open the door while driving the CC will disengage...

Or the boot, or the emergency break, or the passenger door, or the key is removed. All of those things make the LED flash tri-color on my MDC, which means cruise is specifically disabled due some off condition.

MDC Installation Caution

Just a note when you are installing your MDC cruise be sure to put a zip-tie around the OEM and adapter cable connector so they will not seperate with vibration and also be sure to secure the cables so they will not rub on the steering shaft that is directly below the instrument cluster, that shaft does rotate.

I just got back form a trip to Galveston, TX, about 509 miles one way, and the cruise was wonderful.

I found that the speedometer connector wire I had that was a bit longer than I needed. I looped it and zip-tied it just above the OBDII connector. That keeps the line semi-tight, away from the steering column, and prevents it from drooping in the foot well area. Plus it's easy to get to, adjust or undo if you want more slack later.

I just finished my installation of the MDC cruise control. All went well. The instructions were fairly understandable. I have two misgivings about this system, neither of which is the fault of the manufacturer. The wiper stalk is a medium gray and does not match the interior color of my 2009 Brabus which is more black than gray. Secondly, I installed the LED in the speedo behind the "cruise" legend. The legend is clear and the three-color LED can be seen shining through it, however it is not as bright as the board mounted LEDs. I tried to locate it 1 cm back from the legend and all the way up against the legend with not much difference. With the top down in bright sunlight it is not visible. Top up in the shadows and it can be seen somewhat. Oh well, so much for that $25. The cruise works well and to me that is the main thing.

HELP! with installation

My installation has been nothing but a pain! I've checked and re-checked every connection. The optional LED and the LED in the unit just kept flashing. I'm guessing they were flashing yellow since I've only seen the red and this color. Then I took it down the road just to see what would happen and I had no flashing or any other kind of LED. I would appreciate any help before I rip it out of Charlie Brown and ask for a refund.
I'll be at the Indy event and I don't suppose I'll rip it out before then. Cash for the person who bring their tools and gets me up and cruising.

A tip when installing... before hooking up the control box to the break pedal, I suggest hooking up the speedo, led and cruise control wires first... it just makes it an easier process.

Obviously from the above post you can tell that I am having problems....just making certain that the comment about hooking up something to the "break pedal" was just a misquote. There is nothing that you hook up to the brake pedal. You hook up to the accelerator pedal. Yes?

I'm grasping at straws!

I recently installed the MDC c/c. I am only guessing at this point, but when I first powered up the system I needed to program the Sprint Power Booster portion of the cruise. There are 5 selections off, 1, 2, 3, 4 levels of intensity. I chose level 2. Until that is accomplished it won't function. The instructions BTW were translated from German, so I would imagine something gets lost.

Thanks. What got lost was ME!

I hold the button for 20 seconds like it says, let up, push down for five more seconds, and let up. But nothing happens.
And did you notice in bold print on page 14 it says that the car shouldn't be turned on and then right below that it says to turn it on in a well ventilated area.

I'm so confused. Maybe it doesn't take much.
