I'm interested in seeing dynos right after the install and then again after a couple hundred miles. Since the transmission computer is known to learn, I'm thinking that the engine mapping does as well. So if there is a gain initially, the computer should relearn with a new baseline and that would eradicate the gain or even show a loss. Plus, if the location of the MAF is moved at all from the factory location, it might create a lean condition and run lean. This could be very bad for the engine.
If the ECU doesn't learn and the intake temps remain the same as the factory produced (or cooler), there may be some power. Let's hope.
I was involved in development work with my Lotus Elise, which has a learning box, and until someone cracked the code and reprogrammed it, intakes could not produce any power. Most lost between 3-12% from the relearning. And of maybe 10 on the market only one had no reports of setting off the MIL.
