This thread, and the other similar one, have turned into "My dog's better than your dog......."

I agree with you. As professionals, we need to set a good example for others.

Constructive competition can be positive. Looks like we have a choice of quality products and good vendors.

Anybody have any informed opinion whether any of these aftermarket intake tubes is potentially an issue for vehicle warranty?

I do not see how it would be an issue. Unless they can pruve it leaked dirt in to the system

The Hyper Pipe intake replaces the stock plastic pipe and resonance box. The mass air flow sensor is not altered. I have gone to the dealer with a cold air intake and an exhaust upgrade and have had warranty service done without a problem.

My dog IS better than your dog. Oh, sorry....I don't HAVE a dog. I feel confident that both are quality products and either would be an excellent choice, depending on your preference.

Since I worked for years with Volvo Turbos and I'm currently working for a Chrysler dealer, I'm familiar with the silicone hoses used on the Volvo Turbos and Cummins Turbo Diesels and I chose to go with the Red Silicone model. Price was also a concern, as I was pinching pennies as it was so the less expensive, the better. Also, to clarify to those that are thinking about buying any CAI, it's not as easy as it's you're lead to believe. "Installing" your CAI is easy, but removing the OEM Air Intake Tube and Resonator is a PIA! A serious PIA, especially if you have an '09 model. The '08 Resonator is slightly different and apparently is removed much easier.

Regardless, should you choose to tackle this task, no matter which one you decide on, all the hard work to install IS worth it and you'll be very happy with the results. I AM!

This morning I briefly saw the Hyper Tube Cisco has installed in his own car. The thing is beautiful! Looks like we have at least three good products to choose from.

By the way, I installed a new "drop in" K&N in my 2008 today. I was expecting the worst. With the info found on other threads in the forums it was a (literally) painless 20 minute job, more than half that time spent doing a bit of detailing of the engine compartment.
