You can get mount base designed specifically for you smart and device cradle for around $60-$70.
May look like, but the difference is that when you plug the iPhone in the Daimler setup it does change the iPhone's settings to a "car mode", opening the app, altering the screen appearance and charging the device. A conventional cradle won't do that.
At least that's according to the Daimler announcement. The dealership isn't aware of the new system, yet.

From description it looks that they paired cradle with aftermarket BT iphone adapter, so it will work with stock headunit. Bring-Me-Back official Smart App is available to download from the appstore for free righ now. They probably will update it with more functions in the summer.

Guys! srry for the long waiting. so buisy...
The is i think exactly the one ive used. I looked for the cheepest dock around. Then took it apart because i only want the part where al the connections ar on. (sorry for the not sharp pictures..)

Amazon.com: Audio Player Cradle w/ USB & Audio cable for Apple iPhone 3G / iPhone 3GS Black: Cell Phones & Service

that looks like it could be the ticket. I already have a USB/AC charger under the dash, so I can wire this whole thing up w/o any wires exposed!

Thanks for the inspiration
For the mount ive used an adaptor from the universal dock, custumised it a bit so it would fit perfectly in place.(removed al the extending parts.)

when that was in place I made a frame on the back of the dash to support the connector.

Then I sticked the connector thing to a piece of plastic. Make sure the hole and the connector line up and screw the plate in place.

Finally hook up all the cables and you're done.

Easiest and fastest way to explain it. I started a detaild explanation it will follow later as promised.

Cheers

Guys, does anybody tried a parrot mki9200 in their smart? I think in stead of buying an expensive 2din radio as I was planning, I go for the parrot system. Works great in the car of a friend of mine and it works with my dock! I'm now thinking of building the screen of the parrot inside the clock on the dashboard but i think it wont fit... we will see about that!
Any experiances? Other mounting places?
Thanks.
