bigperformance in the UK claims he has a s/c kit and makes many more claims... but always disappears when he's asked to provide evidence

Hey guys and gals,

Here is another option....

Add a set of headers on it! DTH just put them on our Yellow smart and they are great! They have given us some extra power and the sound is unbelievable. They are getting ceramic coated as we speak and we will start shipping them out next week.

They did some dyno runs as well and we will be putting those numbers up in the next couple of days (as soon as we get the info from DTH).

While it may not replace a turbo or an s/c it has surely increased the performance of our smart.

If you are considering a header please keep in mind the following:

It will make the car noisier (I believe with the exhaust, headers and intake we ran at 89 db).
The header is being sold for "off road and race applications only"

Thanks!

Why would you want an SC when a turbo system is available?

Well, if you are talking about a Rotrex charger, then you've got: much lower inlet temperatures, "stealthier" operation noise, instant boost, easier install, and should be much less expensive... Also, no need to cut losses on my $500.00 exhaust that I bought...

#1 I'm not a big fan of turbo lag. I want consistent and linear power delivery
#2 I want more power down low from 0 mph not at 70 mph

I can be persuaded to like a turbo if it will give me results that I want.

Since you guys are in San Diego can I come by and check out what you're working on? I work close by in Grantville.

If the turbo is sized correctly, you will make more low-end torque then a supercharger, you will have better gas mileage then a supercharger and you can adjust your power levels by varying the boost levels much easier then a supercharger. Our turbo develops a ton of low end torque and the power band is simply incredible.BTW,our turbo system is the easiest thig inthe world to isnrtall and I can gaurantee it will be much less effort then installing a supercharger system on this particular car.

You should check it out.You are more then welcome to come by and see what we are doing but our test car will be leaving Monday back to its home in Orange County so we can get some long term testing done.

Darn it. I'm headed up to Mammoth early tomorrow and won't be back late on Monday.
