Looking For Hard Core (complete drivetrain)

I love a good challenge so here is my deal. I would like to purchase complete drivetrain and associated components (451). I want to examine engine components, clutch and trans and determine where we can greatly improve performance. This will not be for the MPG enthusiates but for the tire smokin' Tim the Tool Man kind of guy.I don't know if this engine has other applications but any input will be usefull. Are there aftermarket parts allready available, cams, cylinder heads, stroker kits, larger throttle body and manifold, etc. This will be a project that will take considerable time and effort and expertise from many individuals. Not looking at forced induction or spray, just solid power from a naturally aspirated EFI engine.
The clutch and tranny definitely needs some attention but not sure which way to go on that yet, but no open chain drives in mind.
As I get into this I will post my observations and ideas, anyone will be able to add there thoughts pos. or neg. and it will be a majority win approach to the solutions. Just maybe SCOA gearheads can invent the micro musclecar, S__________?

Here is just the thread you are looking for...

...someone with two complete drivetrains for sale. Click here.

Best of luck! I'm kinda thinking no one is going to be making high performance cams and such for the smart, but I'd love to see what good ol' Yankee ingenuity comes up with.

Best,

geosynch

I know what you mean. Thought I would throw it out there to see if anybody had allready done some hardcore experimentation or knew of existing components.I have access to a cam grinding shop when the time comes.

Cams are not going to do anything the best cam you will get will be the dual cams that are in it now. The only thing you could do is advance them and would end up being better off. I had the whole conversation about this already. The tranny would have to go its the weakest link in the car. What you need to do is shave the head put in bigger injectors and watch your numbers! You will feel like you have a vtec when it kicks in at high rpms
