New Breathless Exhaust Install (new template)

Got exhaust couple of days ago.
Took me about an hour to install it.

Tip#1
Get someone to help you, preferably with small hands (my knuckles still bleeding). It will be way more easier.

Tip#2
Do not take heatshield bolts off. You can install BPP exhaust without removing it. It took me half an hour to get center bolt back.

I used different template for the cutout. Also I used door trim to make it look nicer.

About BPP exhaust:
Extremely well made. I was very impressed that tips aligned perfectly in the center of the rear bumper. No drone at all. Very nice sound. Not much louder then BORLA dual exhaust I have on my PT Cruiser. I'm not sure about MPG, but it is definitely more fun to drive (if it's possible).

Big thanks to Ernie.

Very nicely done, Cube! Looks factory. I especially like the door trim idea. Makes me want to consider that exhaust on my cabrio.

Nice job and I like your cut out better than the BPP version.

Hey,
One tip to install door trim:
Preheat it with heat gun, it will be easier to apply and also heat will soften glue inside of the strip, so it will have better adhesion (sp?).

Don't worry, at least I think it looks better than dual tip set up as long as those looking don't peek under the car. Yeah, the quality, weight, sound and maybe performance may not be what you preffer.

THANKS! I'll be adding this weekend. I was going to do a aluminum surround as I have a stockpile of smooth aluminum plate. I like that door trim and its a whole lot easier. Awesome idea all around. Thanks again for sharing.

GHammerly - Thanks, I like the single about the same, but since everyone else has twin tips..... My exhaust is way louder and slightly lighter than the Breathless or Thorley, I had an assortment of mufflers to choose from including an identical Magnaflow. It's been years since I had anything with a glasspack so it is taking me back to my younger days. (My Corvette has dual 4ft long glasspacks but those are called sidepipes)

Bum-bling-B,
Is that Merc with 123 body style in one of your pics? I used to have one of those with diesel engine. Great car.

Yep, Manila Beige (yellow) '83 240D with a 300D motor swapped in. Nice car but I have stopped driving it since I got the Smart.
