Oh my. Was it one of those blood-blister thingies?

This is all rather interesting reading. I too have done my share of off-roading. I used to own a Geo Tracker and I swear, that truck would go through just about anything! One time I really messed up and got a little too brave and got stuck. Luckily these guys in a hardcore big built up chevy S-10 were there to pull me and my friend out. They were laughing when they drove away but hey, I guess it was a pretty funny situation!

So anyways yeah this thread has me thinking now....I haven't even so much as driven down a dirt road in this thing. I bet its light weight would make a nice, almost sort of sand rail/dune buggy type vehicle. They'd fit down some nice tight trails too.

BTW, do you think it would be too tough to put straight axles under a SMART? Wouldn't that be sooooo cool?

I'm not sure. One of the mods contacted me so now I just use my real name.

I had a Suzuki Sidekick - dented it while off-roading 2 hours after I picked it up from the dealer; bottomed out on a rock as I was on the beach.

The Smart bogs down in sand, the tires are so skinny the car continues to go straight when you turn at speed AND I've got divets in my driveway from the left front wheel braking itself when I've turned into my it too quickly.

I'm up to about 500-600 non-paved/dirt/sand road miles on my smart so far.
