To be near perfect it needs to be:

- near the sound level of the stock exhaust
- constructed with a true flex pipe like the stock exhaust
- a center exit through the valence design
- dual tipped
- performance enhancing to some degree
- offered at a reasonable price

To be absolutely perfect it should also have a good warranty and be returnable if you don't love it in the first week. Hey, we can dream can't we?!?

I think your list will not be a problem. Let me ask you what would be a reasonable price. You can give a range.

As far as the warranty, we will work something out that will be good and fair to our customers. We will not release this product until we are 100% satisfied. We will post pictures and videos.

If it truly delivers on all of these features and has the documentation (dB readings, etc.) to back it up in addition to a good warranty, I would be willing to pay in the $400 - $500 range, shipped if possible. If the price is in the $500 ballpark, the more outstanding the looks, noise levels, performance, and warranty need to be.

But, that's just me and my toy budget. The better half would never go for a replacement of a perfectly good exhaust at a cost of more than $500 net.

Thinking outside the box on the 'net cost' comment... Could you offer anything for the stock exhaust to alleviate the headache of getting rid of it? This assumes, of course, that the purchaser likes the new exhaust enough to safely get rid of the stock unit. The buyer could just ship back the stock unit in the same box for a credit of $x on a sliding scale based on mileage and condition.
