Passenger Side Footwell Shelf..

I was just installing a high current power outlet off of my battery. I want to bring along a small A/C inverter for the Dragon Event...

When I finished the install, and put the foam and carpet back.. I noticed that the top of the foam (above where the air pump is) makes a PERFECT little shelf to hold the inverter. You can't even see it sitting in the seats.. the passenger will never know it's there..

A little velcro and the inverter has a permanent home!

THe power outlet is connected directly to the battery and has an inline fuse holder.. The weak point it the cigarrette lighter style outlet... is really not too good had high current.. but until I find a better connector.. this is great.

Also.. here is my mount for my car computer (GPS, MP3 audio, web browsing, email.. Skype phone calls... etc.etc.etc)

hmm.. didn't find it on a search for "chocolate gooooooo"

Yea.. .I suppose if you are using the heater.. with it directed to the floor.. it might get pretty warm right there...

Not a problem though.. the inverter will hardly be used.. and mostly when the car is not moving..
but it could be a problem for someone living in a cold climate.. using that "shelf" for anything that might melt.

FWIW, my Drive + Play unit has lived on that "shelf" for at least a year so it went through a winter of heater use without problems.

Yep, there was a thread on it being the perfect "hiding spot" for valuables. Someone felt the need to hide their Little Debbie's there last winter and made a mess. I've hid lot of stuff there. Be careful as someone mentioned they hid something there and knocked a wire for the A/C? loose. (going off memory).

Here's the old thread. Look at it, you may see something familiar.

I have had a 3 hole DC power port there for a few months. it works great. Just put the pointy side of the Velcro on the inverter and it will stick.

IFRC, the wire that got knocked off was a temperature sensor/probe that just sort of sticks out there and well, monitors the temp

That little hidey-hole discovery was another sweet surprise, after a couple of months - another joy discovered.

I've never ~loved~ a car before, and as an avid ambassador, I get a kick out of showing her off every day.

She just became a 'grown-up' a few miles ago; 20K and out of warranty...so happy I got a Cadilac extended policy. Bumper to bumper, no deductible, paid for.
