The perfect bike-powered smart???

I saw the following in the Sept.issue of PM....

Honda's new VFR1200F offers an automated dual-clutch gearbox that either shifts on its own or by a driver-operated handlebar switch. It's coupled to a compact 170-HP 1.2-liter V4. Upshifts are nearly seamless, and the computer executes perfect, rev-matched downshifts.

If Honda can make a compact dual-clutch,why can't MB?? Maybe that
would silence the jerk that wrote in his articile in Sept Automobile mag
that BMW mini is a "real car",and my beloved smart isn't!!!....He might be
shocked to know I carefully reviewed Honda insight,BMW mini, and Toyota
yaris,before purchasing my smart...................

This article
2010 Honda VFR1200F DCT First Ride - Motorcycle USA
focuses on the DCT.

From the article ...

This shifting exchange happens within a fraction of a second thereby achieving smooth, seamless acceleration.
Yeah, that sounds sweet.

It's a $1,500 option on the bike. Ouch!

There was talk at one point of a dual clutch for the smart but the ~$2k option seemed a bit steep to some.

I would've seriously considered it. Even though it's a 10% increase in the car's price. Considered, researched, read owner reviews. And then, I probably would have bought it, unless my research convinced me not to. That DCT with paddle shifters seems like it would be a hoot to drive.

Even as a $2,000 option my guess is that they'd sell quite a few.

That sounds like a way better solution than a GSXR swap and with loads more torque! Oh and that super sexy v-4 sound.

In the unlikely chance that you're responding to my post ...
I like my car just the way it is. More, in fact, than any other car I've owned in my four decades of driving. But, that's irrelevant.
