live, try and hopefully learn. back in '86 one of my first mods (non-smart of course) was to replace the headers with bigger, longer and nicely bent headers (of course pricier too). that's what we used to do with the big blocks and even small blocks for extra power. well, the nice new headers slowed my turbo down. at that point I knew I was dealing with new animals - fuel injection and turbos. as I've posted before - it's still an air pump but getting air in, ignition and getting air out can be complex in the boosted world.

Fastturb,
Do you want to include Breathless to the list? There is video on youtube of the BBP 1/4 mile run. 18.35 sec @ 78.2 MPH

sure Cube, I'll add them in and put up the new chart. Do you have any of the other items I track for a good comparison and more data for folks??

Allright, another night at the track:

removed muffler and ran straight pipe off of header out back. (did I say LOUD!!)
all other mods same.
80 degrees ambient
driver at 225 (my wife says 230)

1/4 mi time-18.62 at 75.53mph
1/8 mi time on same run- 12.02 at 58.19mph

in manual shifting mode, stand on gas and let the motor shift when it wants.

Still shifting right before the lights in the 1/4 mi. gotta get the rev limiter raised.

Mendo that's so cool! Where did you go for the track that has the 1/4 length section? I would love to run on it once I get my car back together

Sacramento Raceway.

Wed Night Street Legal Drags.

Wednesday Night Street Legal Drags at Sacramento Raceway

only costs $15 bucks to race. Gates open at 4pm, cars start to run at 5pm. I got 2 runs before the Bracket racing started, then broke out by a couple of hundredths, went to the losers lane and got another 2 runs for 5 runs total.
