Pink Passion....

I'm a newbie to Smarties, in fact, I have yet to purchase one. That being said, I looking for a low mileage convertible. The color is not important, as I will be turning it pink and white for my Daughter. Am I better off going with a "wrap" system, or painting ?? someone told me that I could simply purchase new panels for less than a grand, in any color of my choice. All responses are appreciated, as I know NOTHING about these vehicles !! Doug

You can purchase new panels in any of the stock colors (black, white, silver, red, gray, blue, and yellow if they still have it available), but no pink.

You can always remove the panels from the car and have them painted any color. I'm thinking of doing that with an extra set of panels I have. I have no experience with wrap vs. painting, but I'm going the painting route.

For a solid you would be best Painting it. If you go with a wrap you can have a lot more options like what you will find here

Why go for just Pink when you can have



THey may be able to change the base color on any of their designs to Pink.

that same website also offers "paintskins" which do come in pink- they say it is actually automotive paint on the wrap- haven't seen them in person so don't know how they look. Maybe someone in Florida has seen them and can chime in.
I also plan on changing my smart to pink so have looked at both options. Painting the CAR is more expensive than the wrap prices I've gotten. Painting the PANELS (either buying an extra set or taking them off the car) and taking them to a shop is about the same as a wrap. Since I'm also going to be adding graphics to my car the wrap makes more sense.....but I think paint looks better so that is the direction I'm leaning towards. They did make pink panels for the Special Edition Pink in England in 2006- however all panels started white then got painted pink. Even if you could find those panels they will not fit the US smart car. Hope this helps. show us pictures when you get your daughter's pink smart!!

A lot of great colors and it's actually paint and not a vinyl wrap.
