Price of Lambo doors 4 Smart.

Does anyone think the price of lambo door kit for the Smart For Two will lower in price any time soon. I cant find a vendor who is willing to sell it for less than $1,500.
I have found for many other cars you can find the same kit with good quality but different brand for anywhere from $400 to $800?

If any one has any ideas of where to check or who sells this kit for a reasonable price for the Smart please let me know.

Honestly I dont think it will come down. I want them for my car too but I will not pay that much for them. By no means am I cheap either I have a race car that has over 35k I put into it. I just think they are priced to high. The smart car is taken advantage from bc it is new and all the prices are set high

I did my research Vertical Doors' product is very high quality. The customer service is excellent. When you physically look at their kit, you can see why it's $ 1,500. I had trouble with the doors lifting in cold weather, so they sent me stronger shocks, no charge. Overall a great experience.

Did you install the kit yourself? Is it a pretty easy set up. Maybe just maybe if its so easy that I don't have to pay anyone to install them then it will be almost worth it to me.
Also what about the wires for the power windows..do I need extensions for when the doors lift?

It took about 5 hours, taking our time. The cables are repositioned as part of the kit and the instructions are clear and in color. The only part that's hard is trimming the front fenders to accommodate the hinges. Good Luck !

Thanks for the info...I know the going price is $1400-1500 for the kit. I have been doing alot of shearching and I finaly found 1 vendor that is willing to sell me the lambo door kit made by Vertical Doors for $1050 plus shipping. So I will see if anyone can match or do better to earn my buisness and looks like I will have lambo doors installed on my smart in March if everything goes according to planned.

2micro4u, please remember that the door will not open as far out, so it will be a tight squeeze coming in and out it was 39" from door jamb to door panel, now its 26".

How has the feedback been when people see the lambo doors on your smart. Are people seeing the doors as a good thing on the smart or are they giving negative feedback. Also what feedback are you getting from the community at shows?

We probably sell and install more Vertical Door kits than anyone (just did one two days ago). There is a HUGE difference between the kits you see for under $1K and these. These are high quality, direct bolt on kits that are made for the smart car. The rest are not and you WILL have many issues with them.

We have had a set on our Yellow car for over 8 months and have never had any problems. The fit and finish is first class. If we can be of any assistance please give us a call at 562-961-6800.

Can we sell it for less than $1,100? I am sorry we cannot. I have no idea who is offering to sell you this kit for the price you quoted, but be sure you check out the vendor carefully and make sure they have a solid return policy just in case there is an issue with what you will actually receive.
