Just finished installing some custom billet rear axle tube covers! I was going to buy some but made my own instead. Design, machine, hand polished and paint took about 6 hours! There is a water drainage slot behind the front lip of cover. Covers are lock-tighted in place with two stainless steel 8-32 panhead bolts.

Great job. Your pics gave me a different idea, though. Have you thought about doing similar billet covers in the shape of the smart logo itself? The round part would still cover the tube, while the triangular portion would stick out a bit. Sounds weird, but it might work, and it seems like it would have a real visual punch. And you would have billet tube covers unlike anything else out there!
I found these polished stainless steel drain covers for $1.19 each. They fit perfectly and are attached with a little 3M emblem glue. They keep trash out of the dedion tubes, allow drainage (duh) and don't look too bad.
car is dirty....picture done with a flash at night which brings out the worst. During the day when the car is also clean they look fine. $3 at Lowe's and chrome paint I had in the garage already.

Reason: a picture is worth a thousand words so I'll add that too....
At my request, Breathless Performance made a pair of plain, black powder-coated tube plugs for me. They do their job and do not draw any attention. They are essentially invisible.
