A revolutionary HID system for the smart

It is almost here!

If you have been thinking about getting an HID set or have one that you are not satisfied with we have something that we are confident you will love.

For over 6 months we have been working with one of the largest manufacturers of HID kits and have designed a new HID system for the smart. It is only a couple of weeks away!

We just finished testing the prototypes and they are GREAT!

More pics and details coming up soon... very soon!

Boris, can you explain what you mean by revolutionary and how your kit will differ from others on the market?

Yea Boris I'm curious about your hid kit... I design custom headlights for the last 2 years using factory HID components and projectors from Philips, Osram, Hella, Kyoto, etc... the only way I can imagine it being revolutionary would be a switch out of the halogen projector for an HID one and... where a HID ballast which I keyed the term "supercharged ballast" where you increase the wattage of the stock ballast from 35 watts up to.. 100+

Other then a plug and play HID kit with a ballast and H7 bulb... I'm curious to see waht you have in store for us smarties Since the Smart doesn't use a special halogen bulb...

Cheers!
Larry

OK, maybe not revolutionary, but a big improvement! :-)

We have offered a good, well performing HID kit and still do.

However, what we really wanted to do is have one made that would be very easy to install and at the same time eliminate the extra boxes and wires.

Here is what we came up with...

The new HID can be installed in minutes (2-5min)
No additional wires and boxes
Completely self contained.
Newest HID technology
Exclusively manufactured for Smart Madness
Available for regular and high beams (different design for each)

Here are some pictures of the pre production unit we tested:

Will there be plans or availability for the UK? This is something that I will be very interested in. Would it also be available for the standard fogs and Brabus double fogs?

Okay, you have my attention now. This is a very good concept.

The only concern of mine would be the ability of the new cap to maintain a good seal and prevent moisture from developing in the lights. That, and the pricing, of course.

Is managing the heat generated by the ballasts an issue with this design? I was under the impression that HID ballasts can get hot, but maybe I'm misinformed on this.

Clever design, by the way.
