You sir, are an artist. Nice job. Thanks for the detailed photos and "How-To".

And as to your disclaimer: "WARNING: English is not my primary language, so bear with me.", I know way too many folks whose primary language IS English and who cannot express themselves as well as you.

rgwellsjr,

You will need to remove two screws, one is for the roof trim on the driver side (this one you will see once Overhead Console is removed). You will not need to remove it completely, just pry one side next to the windshield. Under there is another screw for the driver side pillar. Take the screw out and you will be able to remove the pillar.

Good luck

CUBE,
I have to agree with dancote! I would say MOST people whose first language is English are not as eloquent as you sir ! We salute you and thank you so much for your postings . May the smart be with you

Thread resurrected from the dead!

OK - I'm going to resurrect this thread since there are a few thousand new Smart owners since it was last posted.

Last night I worked up the nerve and tried Cube's mounting.

First off- my Scangauge is OLD! One of the first units of the Scangauge II made and it's been in an assortment of vehicles and mounted in a variety of ways so I had quite a bit of cleaning crude/tape and whatnot off as it had been stuck on all those different cars over all those years. While cleaning it with my bone crushing Hulk like hands I broke it!

Next - my Dremel I used was a cutting wheel type, turned out with a less than desirable cut but it wasn't too too oversized. Sooo, I took some tub and tile caulk almond color and filled in the ever so slight gap. It doesn't show up as much as it does in the picture. If it wasn't for the break it would look super good. I will take my time a bit more on my next Smart but I figured I'd resurrect the thread for newbees out there.
