We had the pleasure to see the car at our shop this Saturday, check out the work and drive it around. I must say the engine bay looks fantastic! The guys at SFR did a great job. The quality is top notch and it looks like the parts were meant to be there. Nothing "rigged up" or "mickey moused" in there. They really need to make some clear engine lid covers (working on it now) to showcase this work of art.
I then had the pleasure of taking it our for a run. We drove it around town for about 5-8 miles and then did about 10-15 miles on the freeway. "Oh man....am I going to get some tickets in this thing" is what I thought. The turbo transformed the car. It really gets going on the freeway. Passing problems? What's that? We reached 90+ in no time and it had much more room. It should easily do 110 to 120, but I don't know what that would feel like in the smart and thankfully there was too much traffic to find out. ;-)
There were still a little bit of tuning left on the car, but I can honestly say that the work looks fantastic and once it is done we will be installing one in our car.
On March 21st we (smart Madness) will be sponsoring the 1st smart Anniversary in partnership with Beverly Hills smart and our goal is to have it in one of our cars (Rachel want to go faster, so it will be in her Orange one) by then and preview it to those that come out and join us for the event.
Great job SFR! Can't wait till it is ready....
