The replaceable rear power module is really going to facilitate tuning on this vehicle. It really isn't hard to see how the power/weight ratio can easily be tweaked to get some truly awesome performance out of the SmartCar.

Try putting the engine from the toyota celica or the lotus 4 banger. Maybe the b16 or k20/k24. LET GET REAL FOLKS!!! Smart car with turboed 'busa would be comparable.

They use an electric motor similar to a starter motor for reverse. There are differentials with reverse also.

Smartuki has Reverse gear... This gearbox is why that smartuki kit is expensive - most of the cost lies in the quaife differential and reverse gear lets say its a bit over 4k alone... the gearbox is the same that is used in the Radical SR3
(VVVVVV.radicalmotorsport.com/range/sr3/sr3.php)
I will post some pic next month...
