And who is to be trusted these days? Here is a link to Popular Mechanics saying the stock car runs 0-60 in 9.9 seconds. At least that is what is said in the description Goolge ands then when you click on this link it says it does it in 12.8 seconds. All the info I am seeing is all over the place.

2008 Smart Fortwo Test Drive: A Slow but Solid American Start - Popular Mechanics

That is why I was wanting some actual proof of a car running in the quartermile with a video or timeslip.I could not find the figures that were qouted from Road and Track or Car and Driver.

Not sure why you keep telling us about that pointless video. There are unbiased instrumented test numbers out there for all to see, so you can't go around claiming that stock NA fortwos take 20+ seconds to reach 60 mph just because it feels that way to you.

If you want to get technical...... It is the only video of a Smart car running in the 1/4 mile that has a stock engine that I could find. I keep telling you about it since you made some comments about a random car, run at a random track and there is nothing random about it at all. If you would have taken 10 seconds to click a link you would have seen that there was data. So I brought it to your attention.

And where did I make any claim to anything about 0-60 times? Please point that out to me. Because I did not and please dont assume an opinion of mine is a claim because it is surely not. I said "felt" like it took 20 seconds.I did not say it "does" take 20 seconds. I am just trying to figure out why you are so angry. We are just here to try to help you guys get more power out of the slowest car in the world(again that is my opinion)

Cool. Now we just have to run in the quarter mile to see what our turbo cars can do.There is going to be about 10 of them on the road as soon as we ship out these two systems we are building right now so maybe one of those guys might hit the track before we do.

Ok. Maybe angry was not the right choice of words but you did seem a bit...... on the defensive.

hi i have a few questions
the piggy back ecu does it over write the stock unit?
im debating getting smart madnesses ecu upgrade with the turbo
if it over writes the cars ecu ill not mess with the ecu.
also if it doesnt over write it how much of a help do you think it would be over all?

oh yeah on the exhaust options can you do a split tip like the dth look .. i really like the split look over the dual tip you currently offer?

piggy back is a must for the longevity of your car.....a turbo is basically an air pump....if you just pump air into your car there is only so much so much the stock ecu can do to compensate for the extra air without it going lean. The piggy back provides a different map or parameters for different rpms depending on the aggressiveness of the program....it may ignore certain sensors and fool your stock ecu that everything is fine.

As to wether you really need it or not is more of a personal choice which begs the question as to why you would go all out not add one.
