Smart Mods German style

Found Misterdot com and still sorting out the language barrier

While I am fussing with it, here is the link:

Note: He seems to have the DLR and Cruise Control modules for a 451

Paging lisat

Fred,

Try contacting lisat; she seems to have a good command of the German language.

This is how my son translates it:

Tempomat (Cruise Control) for Smart for2 type 451, with the following functions:

1. Saving and holding at current speed

2. Saving of current speed as maximum speed

3. Increase and hold current speed

4. Decrease and hold current speed

5. Braking shuts off the Tempomat

6. Recall of the last-saved speed

7. The Tempomat provides a speed signal, for ex., for navigation devices

Daytime running lights

Price: 69 Euros

Important:

If you wish xenon headlights, please inform us! The module is easily inserted into the frame. The dimmed lights alone will turn on at engine start: the bulbs will shine at a level of 75%.

For individual needs the following functions can be adjusted:

TFL function (?): on/off

“Coming home” Nachleuchtzeit is adjustable (I’m not sure what “Nachleuchtzeit” means here)

For programming the light switch and headlamp flashers are used. Blinking of the dimmed lights signals the corresponding program.

I am going to guess the "nachtleuchtzeit" means the time the "coming home" (night lights) stay on.

I am intimately familiar with cruise control offered there. Any specific questions, I am happy to answer. But overall, the first thing you'll notice is the color of the switch. Its gray. The color of the piece it replaces on the 451 is black. You would have one gray side and one black side and it will stick out like a sore thumb.

Why? They are using the switch that was available on the older model. Since smart is not offering a factory cruise control for the new smart, there is not one available in the correct color.

That's why we're working so hard to get one produced that is proper. Well, color isn't the only reason. But I don't want to get too technical unless someone asks.

Please feel free to get technical. I assume that you see a flaw in their design? Why will yours be better?

TFL means Tagfahrlicht or in english daylight running lights.
