and its first hillclimb will be at Shelsley Walsh on 3rd/4th May in England.
For those of you who have never heard of the place it is the oldest race circuit in the world still on its original site and original track layout. The only change is the surface is not tarmac and is 104 years old this year.

We are not too far behind you with the Giants Despair Hillclimb (Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania). Same course but with many re-pavings since 1906. Like all hillclimbs, an "off" is very serious business. I wouldn't try it now with my 70BHP smart unless to get up to my course marshall station (at the Devil's Elbow).
With you on this, if you do go off there are loads of hard things to hit.
At least you only have yourself to blame if you get it wrong, not like circuit racing where you have to read the minds of all the other drivers. Nice pic we get loads of what we call locaterfields (Lotus 7/Caterham/Westfields at our hilclimb venues. Jim, when he isnt competing is Clerk of Course at our local hill Loton Park in Shropshire, UK and when we have nothing else to do we run a Marshals championship. Great fun and recomend it to anyone.
