Smart Tachometer & Clock Pods On Pure

Been considering adding the OEM tack/clock Pods to my pure, but recall the option not being offered on the Pure when configuring.. Makes me wonder if something might be different with the Pure.. (i.e. wiring connection/connectors not being there, etc..)

From searching the forum it seems that the install is pretty easy.. was just wondering if anyone with a Pure had installed the pods without issue..

Have you called your dealer to ask if it's possible?

pods are not a factory option on pure

But, that doesn't mean you can't add them yourself?
Pick up a set from your dealer, install them yourself, should not be very hard?

I would think they'd use the same wiring harness for the Pure as they do the Passion. Seems most cost effective. I'd just take the 5 minutes it takes to pop off the cover and look to see if you have the plug in there. I'm willing to bet you do.

appreciate the feedback.. the dealer didn't know specifically if the pods are combatable with the Pure and is looking into it..

I agree that it would make sense for all models to be the same (with wiring) --I just found it odd that the Pods were not an option in configuring the Pure (cannot order a Pure with the Pods)..

will pop and look if I don't hear back from the dealer..

Thanks,
John

I did the install my self after ordering the pods from England back when they were hard to find in the USA. You have to carefully cut out two knockouts at the rear of the dash bezel, there is a plug (mine was a Passion) waiting there for the pods, You can take off your dashboard bezel and see if the plug is there before buying your pod.

Here are picture instructions for installation. Search the boards for the link.

wound up getting confirmation from the dealer/parts-dept that all models are wired the same (have the connector for the pods)..

also had the pods in stock so picked them up and just installed tonight.. easy install --biggest "hassle" was cutting the notches out ..but noting a dremel and file couldn't handle..

it's soo nice to "see" the RPMs now --nice look/glow at night too..

My Passion doesn't have heated seats, but is prewired for them. I'd suspect the Pure is too.

When I had my interior out, there were several unused connectors on the master wiring harness.
