Torque is always going to be the issue with the bike engines. There is a HUGE difference on my Radical leaving the pits (the only time I see first gear acceleration) when going out solo v. having a 200 lb. passenger. And THAT only brings the total weight to 1500 lbs. Adding another 500, AND the clutch take up? You'd better be dead level on takeoff, cuz there's no mass to that flywheel.

Off topic, but I think I saw you in the T-Rex back in February rolling around West LA. Or else there's more than one of you out that way!

that was probably me in West LA... I have no problems with the Rex and take off ( stock fly and clutch under boost Kawasaki 1200) yes 200 lbs passenger kills the Rex too... This conv. will be a daily driver (maybe not in the hot ass summer) I think I will be fine... if not well I have a new track car

looks like the engine will kill the trunk area. not as bad as them hayabusa/smart conversions where the engine looks like it's in the passenger seat. it's better than cramming a couple of huge sub-woofers in there (totally useless). i've sorta outgrown my "need for speed" after i sold my '70 firebird 29 years ago, now i like to kick back a little and enjoy the scenery, I-90 through southern minnesota is quite nice, at 75mph in a geo metro it's almost terrifying, it would be pleasant at 55mph in a smart.

looks quite interesting, good luck with your little project!
