I have a Clifford 50.7X with Remote Start in my '09 Brabus, I love it, especially since its Black on Black and can get pretty hot in the summer. The remote has a 1 Mile range so distance is really not an issue. I also had a Stealth Tracking ST3200 installed. The main reason that I have it is due to the fact that I travel on Business a lot and my car sits at the airport sometimes for weeks. Having an alarm alert within a 1 Mile radius is great if you're within 1 mile, but not 3000 miles away. The stealth Track actually sends me a Text message when my alarm has been triggered, it also alerts me if the battery is running low. It's pretty sweet.
The reason I mention this is that it also allows me to unlock the car from anywhere in the world using my iPhone or any PC or via an IVR with just a telephone. Great for when I'm out of town and the girlfriend locks her keys inside or when I go to the gym, I just leave the keys in the glove box, go workout and then unlock it from my Phone on the way to the parking lot. I'm not sure if you could integrate the Stealth Track and Clifford to activate the remote start from anywhere, hadn't considered the reasons I would want to do that.
Hope that helps!

There are a few who have seen my Inky. The carputer can now start the engine, shut it down. Monitors and control the throtle. Working on the stearing now! ;-) Breaks I'm not sure of yet. My bigest problem was remotley starting the carputer. Then the Iphone can control the computer. So yes you can remote start the car with an iphone. my way is a little diffrent.

To make that you need much more items than you think. I curently start my for four by remote control.
For iphone you need:
- bluetoth adapter for you car
- a tranzistor for switching the bluetooth signal
- some wires
- iphone
- iphone software, pay someone to make one.
But be careful, someone could start your car, someone who you don't want to

i have smartstart

i had bestbuy install the smartstart the day it came out. it's pretty cool, but the software is buggy sometimes, and currently it only provides one way communication. (if you start the car from your iphone, there's no feedback from the alarm system to the phone to let you know if it's indeed running or not....or whether the doors or locked or whatever).

i love it, looking forward to the 2 way communication update that supposedly is to come out soon....

only complaint is that the installer was NOT able to integrate the smart start with the factory alarm ARM / DISARM wires. that is, I still have to carry the key to arm and disarm the factory alarm. Also, he had to install a bypass box and mutilate one of my keys

has anyone integrated the factory alarm ARM / DISARM with a remote start????

Viper SmartStart Iphone

Each Best Buy I phone claim the product won't work in a Smart. For those who were successful, what was your creative solution to automatically turn on the defrost, seat warmer and heater while the car engine was warming?

Can you turn the car back off with the app? I mean it would be funny to park your car at a busy sidewalk and be like 200ft away and scaring peds by magically starting your car.

But then there's that scary thought of accidentally starting your car from miles away and not knowing if you turned it off.
