Stop Sound and Dust / Very Cheap Mod.

Road noise seems to be a problem with these little cars. I have noticed it seems to come from the door edges. I have already put a layer of sound deadening foam in both doors. Last week I decided to quiet it some more.
I went to my local Advanced Auto Parts store and picked up a roll of peel and stick weather stripping. I cleaned the inside edge of my doors with alcohol, then applied the strip. Right of the bat I noticed it was quieter. The next bonus was the reduced amount of dust in my door jams. All this for $7.89 , who would of thunk it?

And yes the door is a little bit harder to close, but not onugh to make you have to slam it.

Someone gave me that Idea before. I was going to report on the results of my trial, but it immediately failed the car wash test so I yanked them off. They still let water in, but I was afraid they may not let it back out as easily.

I didn't try the road noise test. Didn't have them on long enough

The water drains out of the front with no problems.

Porsche Boxster traps the water in untill you open the door, then it dumps on you feet.

forestacademy,
If you don't put it on the edge of the door skin, it wont meet up with the inside edge of the cars door jamb. To test for a good seal I closed a piece of paper in the door, then pulled it out slowly to see if it was sealing. I can see by how crooked your tape is that yours was never close to sealing. Try with wider tape or put it on the edge and you will get a much better seal.

Low cost DIY mod; costs $21.24 if you buy the same thing from one of the Corvette parts places (the Corvette tax!)
