I have had no problems with my sun shade except I am not fornd of sun-roofs in the first place and you still get a little heat through the shade in the day and when I sit up in the seat my hair will brush the shade when it is closed, which bugs me.
I went to my local Hobby Lobby store and bought a sheet of foam-board and cut it to fit the sun-roof and a little extra to slip under the trim on each end. I split the board in half across the width of the car so I could slip each piece in and push it under the trim in the front and rear of the roof. I also cut it wide enough that I had to bow it to fit it on the sides. I then joined the two halfs with alum-tape and I will leave the sun-shade open.
The board is white poster papper on both sides with a foam core so it is insulated, I may cove the inside with fabric or contact paper to match the interior later.
The botom line is no more sun-shade problems and less heat in the cabin.
