Suspension Mods - Wrong Way?

I got to thinking the other day about what a lot of people say about the somewhat harsh ride you get from the smart. I was also wondering about some of the spring mods that are available and a couple of things occurred to me.

First of all, if you put a couple of plus size people in this car, they will fit, but will also push, if not exceed, the meager 460 pound payload of the car. I was wondering if there are any spring packages that might increase this a bit.

Then I was wondering if we could fit a SMALLER wheel on the car with a fatter tire to provide more cushion and smooth out the ride. On inspection, I realize this would require a smaller set of front disks, since they barely fit the 15 inch wheels as it is. A smaller diameter, ventilated disk with multiple calipers to make up for the loss of area, would work, and would require a bit of engineering. But I still couldn't help wondering if it would be worth it to some.

Any thoughts?

You can find just about any size spring + spring rate, or have a custom spring rate made. I ordered a pair for my rears.
