traffic light changer

i just installed a "light knight" traffic signal changer. this is a small, very strong magnet that secures under the bottom of a motorcycle to intiate a traffic signal change where needed. i used the sticky and tie wraps that it comes with and secured it to the very front of the plastic belly pan. lowest and furthest from the electronics. it doesnt affect the computer (tested already) and i'll really never know if its working, but i do have a couple signals that wont change so i'll see what happens. if your interested its only $13.95 shipped and i got it at www.thelightknight.com

Different trips, different results. What works on some won't workon others. If it helps at the problem lights you've identified, kudos!

Sounds pretty neat but I'm scared of magnets because of the metal plate in my head.

No problems with lights for me ever....at least yet.

We have a gate in our parking lot that uses those metal detector loops..
I tried a HUGE magnet off of an old radar tube.. with a scope looking at the signal comming from the detector loop... never even noticed the magnet.. tried tying the magnet to a string and spinning it over the loop.. nada.. nothing.. magnets don't trip those loops..

I've had an issue with one traffic light every time. It's when I get off of Watterson Eastbound onto the Bardstown Road ramp in Louisville and im sitting near underneath the bridge and the light just sits there as red so i finally have to go for it. It's early in the morning so theres never any other cars.

I purchased the RLC-40 Traffic Light Changer from amazon.com for $20-. The magnet was installed on the end of the De Dion tube. My smart car now has a foot print of a dump truck that control parking lot gates sensors, gated community exit gate sensors and traffic light road sensors. It was installed one year ago and its still attached.Prior to the installation my gated community exit gate would not open.

It's good to know that your problem trip sensor appears to be magnetoresistive. Those are good for sensing metal but will definitely spike with a magnet!

You wouldn't be so happy if it was an inductive loop.
