Im tooking to buy a Smart Car and I was browings performance mods. and I saw something about a hybrid turbo... Does anybody know the availability of any turbo for Smart Cars? Also, how much an increase in hp it makes and the loss of mpg.

Just put a Suzuki GXSR 1000cc motor in it from a salvage bike (lots of them available), 180HP.

You could do it, you'd get horrible mileage though

Ha, yeah about half. maybe... im only 16. I was plaaning on getting an rx-7 and just making it a project car but gas would be like less than 10 mpg with all the mods. so maybe, theres a lot of other mods on for a smart car, i had no idea.

what about not using a gsxr 1000 engine, but a 750 or 600?

While "fun" and "unique" and even "cool" I suspect it is also "temperamental" and not something you'd want to drive everyday to work.

I have a friend who says he can make our cars 150-160bhp with a change of internals and turbo for under $10k. He is talented with many sorts of custom cars, so I am waiting on a bonus at work and then I should be ready for the transformation. My car only has 1300 miles, so this should be fun ;^ )
