Alarm

No sure if you can on the Smart Alarm - but on my wifes Yaris her alarm can be configured to chirp or not to chirp..... and in many different ways - right now its as annoying as hell cos when you set it to on it chirps 4 times - urgh..... I really need to get off my arse and change it

Before commenting on my last comment about not getting an alarm for my smart, yet having one in the Yaris..... the only reason the Yaris got on is cos the wife wanted remote keyless ignition - and it happened to be bundled with an alarm....

Cheers

To chirp or not to chirp, that is the question . . .

Real simple folks. If you have the alarm, keyless locking/unlocking button presses are accompanied by a chirp. If you do not have the alarm, keyless locking/unlocking button presses are NOT accompanied by a chirp.

Alarm = Chirps

No alarm = No chirps

I think he means that he's holding the button down, it will repeat transmission until you let go, so it's like pushing it twice.

ESP Update

Just wanted to update the whole disabling ESP thing... earlier I had stated..

i figured out what it is.... the hill assist is disabled... Since Siping my tires I have noticed that the esp light rarely comes on anymore so I decided to pull the fuse again this morning and play with it a little.
I did notice that I had to step on the gas to get the car to move... and after a bit of driving I figured out what it is. Hill Assist is disabled. or at least that's my theory. when I come to a stop at a light, the car is not trying to push forward for a sec like it did before. I can actually come to a complete stop, take my foot off the pedal, and not move anywhere. (unless there is an incline, then I'm rolling) I think I'll experiment with this tank to see how that affects the gas mileage. Just filled up this morning and am at 40mpg driving in manual mode setting it to neutral at intersections. I'll do this tank in manual and leave it in 1 at intersections.

Note: (when driving in auto and leaving it in gear I was getting 36mpg, and when in auto and shifting to neutral at stops I got 38mpg)

Update,

I only saw about .5mpg increase, and that could have been from just about anything, so I have plugged it back in.

I had to visit the dealer a second time to have them show me it.
Enjoy....
I am not glad I am not the only one...
