We need new separate DIY subforum
Just a suggestion,
Can we have separate subforum for just DIY. Only steps by steps tutorials (preferably with pictures).
Threads like "I have new speakers" should not be allowed in that forum unless there is pictures with step by step instructions.
What do you think?
Thank you.

I have deepest respect for Kane, but there is way more stuff that WE can contribute. If we want this site to grow we need to have good ORIGINAL content here, or people will go somewhere else.
Small exsample: Evilution website stated that small powered Kenwood subwoofer should fit under the seat of 451, so I ordered one. Guess what? It didn' fit even close. Only place it will fit in the car is behind the seats. Space is the premium in Smart plus I want my setup look like stock, so I need to look for a different subwoofer now.
Just my opinion, but I can be wrong. :-)

I disagree that people will go elsewhere. UK has countless forums but there are only 2 main ones, same with France and Germany. America is enormous with way more people than the previously mentioned countries. This forum will always be top of the list because it is pretty much the only big forum in USA.
What I find is that people ask questions on forums, people link to my site, the person's questions are answered. When they need help once more, they just ask on the forum again.
I'm a great believer in keeping all the info in one place but I would say that 90% of all the info on my site is from me, I very rarely get offered info or ideas. I would say that 1% of smart car owners are "do-ers", the rest are watchers and copiers.
If a good idea did appear on here that I thought would be good on my site I would contact the person who did it and ask if I could use it. If it is on here, the Americans will see it, if it's on my site, everyone will see it.

What a great idea!! A DIY (searchable) section where we could post good, well thought out projects with clear instructions and specific photos? I say - YES!!!

Kane, I hope that I didn't offended you with my post. As I stated before I have only deepest respect for your work.
All I'm trying to say is that we need separate subforum for just DIY stuff.
For example: what a chance we will find detailed installation instructions on Breathless Performance exhaust on Evilution? We have it here, but in about a month it will be buried in the hundreds of other posts about people using they umbrellas for cruise control. We have some good stuff here but it is very unorganized and very hard to find.

I agree with the DIY sub forum idea. I really appreciate the supporting vendors and I have supported some with my biz. I do find it interesting that vendor posts for new products are made, not only in the Vendor Marketplace sub forum, but this and other sub forums.
Vendors, please don't take this wrong. I just wonder if this sub forum is appropriate for those posts. Let me explain. In other forums members will post a newly discovered or acquired an installed product in a mod forum. A vendor will announce a new product in something like the Vendor Marketplace.
As for DIY, I'm hands on and love to tinker. A DIY sub forum would be a great idea. And vendors, announce MORE STUFF, please!

No offence taken at all.
There aren't that many differences between the UK and USA fortwo so things like fitting an exhaust, although technically slightly different, is very similar.
I'm glad to say that from yesterday, I have started adding 451 stuff to my site.
15 new pages so far.
