Hey thanks for the 08 and 09 Compairison pictures. That shows a lot and brings up new questions. Like what was the gain in the 09 that they redesigned the box?
It's in the same place as his CAI and most every other CAI.... what's you point?
Is really quite simple. I am interested in people that can think outside the box, especially when it comes to performance gains no matter how big or small it might be. Anybody can follow the leader as you so pointed out. From other threads it has been pretty well established that intake air flow will be disturbed with this point of entry for the vent hose being close to the throttle body plus I thought this was called a CAI? What gain could you possibly get by inducing hot, oily vapor directly in front of the throttle body or pulling air away from intake during part throttle operation. The bottom line here is also quite simple, for maximum gain be it small, you would want to keep your vent hose as far away from throttle body as possible.
I guess for the ultimate gain it would be best to eliminate the vent hose completely.
But, as discussed in another thread venting to atmosphere was pretty much a bad idea,(emissions). So I still stand that venting into the intake system as far as possible from throttle body will produce the largest gain in performance vs point of entry near throttle body.
Barney O....how do like my low budget dog now? Or maybe the big dogs need to regroup?
Edit: I left your original message but you're not a supporting vendor here. If you'd like to market your product please send a PM to SMART to be setup.

Reason: solicitaiton by a non vendor

Wow dude, I guess you didn't get the hint the moderator threw out early in this thread did you? Why come on here a berate an established, and well respected vendor? Now your advertising your intake on his thread, and your not even a supporting vendor. Mods, is it time to step in?
As far as the hot oily vapor in the intake tract, if you have that, you have bigger issues. I have 40K on my car now, and the inside of the vent tube on my smart is nice and dry.
By the way Boeshbuilt, nice looking intake, and at a good price point. Well done!

Reason: removed edited material from quote... selling when not a vendor

The offer has been edited... thanks for the catch... next time please report the post as it sends an email to all of us and we can deal with it much quicker.
Barney... like I said earlier in the thread... you're entitle to your opinion but be civil about it.

+1... at 54k miles mine is dry as a bone... and running great... location of the hose is a personal choice but in the big scheme really doesn't matter. You either like it or don't.
When you knocked off my armrest and started selling that junky look-a-like for cheaper did I say anything?
I always stay off your posts, even when you post dyno results about that prove you know very little about cars and performance.
This intake is just as nice if not a little better than yours, and way cheaper!
Stick to making tow hooks and axle tube covers and STAY OFF MY THREADS!!!!
( Just FYI for the innocent by-standers the first e-mail I ever got when I started my company was from this clown and he was very rude, I havent liked him ever since)
I guess I forgot how many times my low budget thread got derailed.
But yes, Iam entitled to my opinion and this thread started as, "what do you think?" and from a standpoint of achieving maximum performance venting your crankcase in front of the throttle body is not the place.
The manufacture has different criteria to follow. It is easy to pattern off an existing component as the similairity of the 08' resonator box and some of the aftermarket hoses. As I stated before my only interests are people that go into experimentation and search for gains, big or small. If you are satisfied with your setup, "Power to ya!" but don't condem people that think outside the box looking for more?
