Wiper arm [stalk] decorative end piece

Installed my MDC cruise today. Want to take the decorative end cap off the wiper stalk and put it on the new stalk but can't figure out how to get the piece off without damaging the piece or the stalk. I know others have taken this piece off, any tips you can give. Also... the instructions for operating the cruise control (on, off, set, resume, seem like Greek to me) advice in this area would also be welcome. Thanks

Use a small flathead screwdriver and you can slide it under between the cap and stalk... it'll pop right off.

The edge of the cap appeared quite flush to the arm allowing no space underneath for a flathead driver. Try to pull what you can and you can expose a little of the lower edge. If you can't get a grip at all, use some tape to help pull the end-piece up enough to get an edge underneath. If the flathead driver is too large, a blade might be easier to use but be careful not to slip - they scrape easily but are cheap to replace.

German translated to English is Greek? You've seen the instructions but the translation leaves you scratching your head?

I used a utility knife (box cutter). Just wedge it in there and gently rock it (being careful is key, as John says). It should pop right off.

Use a knife, you have a smaller blade and it won't leave damage, just be gentle. You don't need to wait to call smart madness.

Thanks guys, got the end piece off. Very, very tight fit. Now for figuring out the operation of the cruise. I'm sure once I figure it out it will become second nature. In the meantime, it certainly operates different than the OEM units in cars sold in America.

Once you get thoroughly addicted to the cruise control and wear out the plastic OEM cap, Smart Madness has some nice chrome replacements that won't wear out and crack!
