The "drive-by-wire" plugs appear to be industry standard. The cost is probably very low.
Again, I am not saying it is not a good product. I enjoy remapping my Porsche at a push of a button. I also realize that the price is set by the manufacturer who has to cover warranty, cost of distribution, marketing, liability insurance etc...
20 years ago, I was discussing with a HP board member and I was explaining I'd just bought a then state of the art Laser Jet 2 printer for like $1,500 discounted. He explained to me that the raw manufacturing cost to HP, ex-works Thailand, boxed with manuals, was $100.
I hope it's the same ratio for the Sprint Booster.
