I expect the proprietary plugs will add $200 to the price.

The "drive-by-wire" plugs appear to be industry standard. The cost is probably very low.

Again, I am not saying it is not a good product. I enjoy remapping my Porsche at a push of a button. I also realize that the price is set by the manufacturer who has to cover warranty, cost of distribution, marketing, liability insurance etc...

20 years ago, I was discussing with a HP board member and I was explaining I'd just bought a then state of the art Laser Jet 2 printer for like $1,500 discounted. He explained to me that the raw manufacturing cost to HP, ex-works Thailand, boxed with manuals, was $100.

I hope it's the same ratio for the Sprint Booster.

I remember those "unintended" acceleration lawsuits. I wonder how this product can get liability insurance?

I mean I put this on a Mercedes, I splash the neighbor's dog, first thing I'd do is blame SPRINT BOOSTER, not on a "senior" moment!

Definitely an old thread but it's probably the only thread on the Sprint Booster not locked yet

I ordered a Sprint Booster from Boris at Smart Madness. Installation took about 5 minutes (just undo 2 bolts from the accel pedal and attach the sprint booster). Took it out for a drive and the car was a lot more responsive. No more lag in the acceleration pedal.

Obviously, this doesn't add horse power to the car but it really makes a difference to me.

I also realize that this is an old thread, but just installed version 2 of the Sprint Booster. For me, it greatly improves the "driveability" of my smart. As someone else stated in one of these Sprint Booster threads, the car does not shift in to 5th gear so soon now, and when you do need to kick it down to a lower gear, the throttle pedal travel is a whole lot less. Overall, it makes the car feel a lot more responsive. I bought it from Smart Madness, and liked the fact that if I decided not to keep it, I could return it for a full refund. Yeah, $300.00 is a bunch of money these days, but I am definetely going to keep the booster. Just wanted to throw my opinion in to the mix for anyone else considering one of these.

I ordered a cruise control and sprint booster last summer from SM and the additional cost of the booster was $69. Don't know what the price of the booster is now by it's self but truly enjoy both products.
The booster simply allieves the jerky shifts in manual and the cruise control for those cruise lovers speaks for itself.
