I had a chance to see the lift and the bars on the front and rear... The bars they used were cool. It's probably getting wrapped right about now! I'm sure we see it in a couple more weeks since the auto show is in 3 weeks

Can't wait to get my hands on that kit. Anybody know where to get aftermarket speedo gears for the smart?

The speedo is not connected by cables and gears - that's so 20th Century It's a digital sensor upon whose data the car's computer performs an algorithmic calculation, the result of which is then output to the dash display.

Any updates on this lift kit? I've been waiting to see it as an option on the Smart Madness website, but it still says "available October '08".

I'm ready to convert my lowered Smart to a lifted Smart, but I have many questions. For one, I read this is a "body lift". How is this possible? Also, the SEMA car was claimed to have a 4" lift. So which is it? 3 or 4"?

I would like to be able to clear a 27" tire (smallest A/T I could find) and I think I could do it with a 5" lift. If this is just a body lift do you think there is room for a small suspension lift too? Perhaps using strut spacers?

Smart Madness...if you are interested in something like this I would be willing to work with you on this. I am an engineer full-time with a full machine shop. Spacers would be easy. Hell, even custom a-arms wouldn't be too hard.

Since a picture never made it this thread. I think this is a great way to get the good ole boys to accept the smart. Paint it Orange and some Royal Blue numbers of .01 on the side and it would be perfect. Any I can maybe think of something to paint on the troublesome Passion panoramic roof. ..or maybe even a perforated sunshade with something printed on it...I dunno a flag or something like that.

I'm liking this car. It would be PERFECT for my road AND my property!

I'd REALLY like to know how they lifted the front suspension. The pictures on the Smart Madness website show the S-Mann (X-Mann lift kit) car @ two different heights. One height has the front end AT LEAST 2" higher than the car shown @ SEMA.

Smart Madness...if you are reading this then can you post up some more details? If I get too impatient I might end up just making my own kit...which I hate to do when someone else has already done the guesswork.

I forgot the name of the other lift I saw at SEMA but I think it was DayStar, it was a nice looking spacer lift and I think it was 2.5" if I remember correctly.
