Cool! I have already spoken with the guy at KillBoy - when it gets a little closer (like early September), I will contact him again, to make arrangements for some group shots, etc.
I have also rigged up an external mount for my video camera (will test it this coming weekend at Lowes Motor Speedway), so that I can film the run.

Did this on my motorcylce two summers ago. What a road! May as well do the Hell Bender right after it. Quite a nice road as well. Won't be able to make the trip from Texas... but everyone else enjoy!

I'm counting down the days myself. How dangerous is that road? Are we guaranteed that at least someone will be in a wreak? I don't want such things to happen but for some reason I get that this is very very very very dangerous road.

There is a "Tree of Shame" at the bottom of the Dragon. It is littered with motorcylce parts. Road is safe as long as you do the speed limit and watch out for crotch rockets who can and often do take the corners much faster than the posted speed limits. What I found on my Harley was to not sight see and stay away from the center stripe. Also... look through the curve.

Not that bad of a road. Worth driving IMHO.

Absolutely worth driving. I'm only 120 miles away from the Dragon. That was my first run through it, and I'll probably do it a few more times before then. As has been said before stay in your lane, and keep your eyes completely on the road. No fiddling with your cell phone, GPS, etc. Out of courtesy I pulled off several times to let bikes go by. Then I got behind a group that had a lead car about a quarter mile out with a radio reporting to a group behind that would go about 25mph then floor it around the curves. I only saw one wreck while I was there, and no trucks, plenty of cops though. Just be careful and we'll be fine.

I've got a itch that will only be satisfied by the next 60 days going away. I can't believe we still have 2 months to go. I think Gary has done a great job and even has gotten Dave Schembri signed on to come. I know there are 46 reservations currently and wondered who is coming? Gary has even done a map of where people who are signed up are coming from.

Hi everyone, new (4 day) smart owner here. Just signed up for this event today, my wife (maybe) and I (for sure) will be there. Haven't done the dragon in about 4 years or so, can't wait to do it in the smart!

See you all there!

I am the New Orleans one on that map...
If nothing changes.. I'll be there (no storms in the gulf etc.)
Can't wait :-)
