#2 from Beverly Hills

#087648....delivered 1/19/08.....White w/ black shell, beige interior.#2 from Smart Beverly Hills,California (#1 was sold on E-Bay by the original owner to Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories). Hit 3000 miles this morning. So far so good. I'm not too wild about the tires, they seem to go wavy gravy on freeway rain grooves. I'd like to get rid of that velcro-like carpet, and if I could get rid of the understeer I'd be real happy. I haven't figured out what's causing the occasional mystery warning beeps yet either.
That being said; the Smart is one of the most fun cars I've ever had. I've had a couple of the old Fiat 500s (Abarth and Gianinni) and the Smart is just as fun to drive, only without the headaches. I'm using it for a 45 mile one way commute on the L.A. freeways and so far I'm enjoying every mile.

BEAT CAL.

Well, I found out that the car beeps at you when the hill-holder mechanism is working - it'll beep as it lets go of the brakes according to the manual, and according to my experience in my driveway when I accidentally had it in D instead of R the first night we had it home...

beep beep beep

hmmmm.... I have to test that. I'm getting the beeps sometimes on flat surfaces after I turn off the ignition.....I'm wondering if it would stop when the instrument cluster turns off. I have noticed that if the E-brake lever isn't all the way down it beeps, and once or twice the dome light switch on the driver's door might have set it off.

#5 from BH Benz here. All ready had the car in the shop for a check engine light. Took 24 hours to pull the gas tank and replace a couple of parts. Search for "Check Engine" and see the work order and all details.

Hi there. Don't have mine yet so I don't know anything about the beep. Welcome to the forums though!
