But then I guess if you can write the check for the Maserati, when the ash tray becomes full you just sell the darn thing?

Top back - gotta go!

A few points on Maserati, My car was the same as the white one ( In Blue Mediterraneo Metallic) After on 17,300 miles I needed a clutch and f1 pump plus the 20k service, cost about $6900.00. Then a week after getting it back the harness to the fuel pump needed to be replaced ( Got stuck around the block from my home and needed a flat bed. Since this was August (last year) the factory closed for almost the month of August. (Had to wait) Got the car back and the dealer told me the following, "Try not to back up since that will wear the clutch out faster, try not to use the car in stop and go traffic on a hot day since the F1 pump will overheat, Watch the temp gauge with the A/C on since some people are reporting an overheating issue". It got to the point were I didn't want to drive it. So I put it for sale three weeks before we when to Rome. It was there for the hell of it I drove the smart car and just had to get one back in the states. I'm a small time car collector, 70 Boss Mustang, 72 SL350, and now the smart car. I'll have more fun with this then just about any other car I had in the past 35 years of driving. It's nice to try something new. P.S I'm going to try to install my NOX 50 hp dry system I had on my Hayabusa. If it works that should give this little car a kick ( I hope it doesn't blow up)

Thanks for the word on the Maserati TC. Thats the cars I help people restore. Having owned 15 or so TC's it was nice to see it noticed. My wife and I purchased the smart to save miles on our TC. I love the smart....but there are times I need my 300hp-16psi of boost and something a little quicker than the smartie. If you would like to see pictures of the 20th anniversary of the TC in Auburn Hills in May please visit my web site.

Well you will definatly have more fun driving the smart.

Why

Because you are expected to dive it, not baby it.

Welcome to the the forum! I think it's funny that that expensive cars of the rich (no offense meant) are the ones that fall apart the most. I would expect if I was paying out that kind of money on a performance car for it to actually perform it's function not be in the shop.
