Hello from Riverside RI. I have been after a smart since Oct. 2005. I even had correspondence with a Mercedes USA customer rep named Honora Duffy back then about just bringing in one from Canada. Then nothing until the Providence Journal Mar. 31, 2007 article.

Only 3 of us from RI: Seems to be only one from Warwick, Sarafil, and some one from Westerly that has a chopped off email address for a user name.

With a #1185 reservation and Inskip's Valois claiming 250 smarts, perhaps we'll get our cars quickly?

The sign's up & they plan to open Jan.2. The same day they will raffle off the 50 inch plasmar TV.

If anyone knows of others from RI, I'd be interested in from them. It would have been fun to see how the smart would have handled the snow a week ago Thursday.

Did you get a chance to drive one this summer when they were at Inskip for the roadshow?

Yes, I did. And my son drove the cabriolet.

I drove in the automatic mode on a passion. I didn't notice any problem with the shifts. I guess I'm not that discerning.

Did you reserve one? I don't see your reservation number in the sidebar.

Do you know of anyone else in RI who's reserved one?

glad to see you didn't have a problem with the shifting. I haven't driven one yet, but that is one of my worries. I can't wait to try one out for myself.
