Advertising Effectiveness?

Hi All --

I reserved a Cabrio in May and was put on a TWO YEAR waiting list, but I also elected to be put on the fall off list. This past Friday, I got the call that another Cabrio was ready if I wanted it. Did I ever? Even though it is a different color, it doesn't matter. I fully intend to use it to advertise my criminal defense law firm -- all done up in red, white and blue colors.

Everyone in my small Minnesota town drives pickup trucks and SUV's -- so this car is a REAL head turner. I really think that it's going to help bring in clients.

Anybody else out there use their smart car for advertising? What kind of luck have you had?

Depends what you spend, I suppose. I've got $30 invested in lettering on the rear window of my Cabrio. The car gets plenty of attention everywhere and I figured I ought to take advantage of it. The car even hit the front page of the local paper with a nice article.

I decaled my smartie up for the local 4th of July parade (see my gallery) to advertise my sign & graphics business. Don't really know how much new business it has brought in but everyone knows who I am now.

If you want to know how much attention it's getting, use a unique web address on the car, redirecting to the real website. Traffic to the new site can be measured separately. This assumes you're web-tech-savvy enough to do it or know/hire someone that knows geek stuff. If you have a website, chances are whoever made it knows how. If they don't, they should learn because it's a very simple way to get marketing effectiveness metrics. Beats the heck out of "how did you hear about us?" surveys.
