automatic car wash

I am a new owner (and loving it). Everything has been relatively simple, but it is now very cold and I do garage my car (my garage has soooo much more room now) but I want to wash the salt off ... and the booklet says "no automatic car wash" ... need some advice ... would appreciate anyone who has used automatic car washes ... can this be safely done without any negative affects??

I use one that is brushless but with lower water pressure. The high pressure brushless have been known to blow off the front bonnet.

Brushless! It's OK. Summer 97, the caravan across the country had theirs carwashed several times a day.

I have been taking mine thru one for the last year and the car still looks, runs and drives like a brand new car.....not scratches on the wheels, either, from the guide rails in some carwashes whose wear bars have been worn off. It is not a brushless one either but rather a combination brush/high pressure spray/high velocity drying cycle.

The only thing that it doesn't do well is clean the passenger side wheels and tires because the wheel cleaner will not reach across far enough to hit the wheels so the guys in the drying bay at the outlet end clean that side by hand for me.....
This local car wash is one of a many in the Albany area and they run a tight ship. Very clean and well maintained.....Hoffman's Car Wash.....top shelf.

Dear Rosalie,

Call the car wash that you would normally go to and ask them if it is safe to put the smart car through it. I did and had no problems with my smart convertible.

I have had problems with some not reaching to the pasenger side as well as the drivers side because of the narrow Width. Other than that no problem
