Wife got a smart in April and 4,500 miles on it. Three bars came up on the dash and it would not start although everything else worked. Had it towed. Any one else have this problem and what was the problem? Thanks to anyone who can help
Search this forum for "three horizontal lines" - the transmission had a problem figuring out where it was, and refused to start in an unsafe state. The dealer will fix it. Sometimes a teach-in process will work (refer to the manual for what this is), a few rare times it's more serious.
