Just found this forum today - great reading. Patiently awaiting a red/black passion.

Has anyone who has been through the configuration / contract / order process found any price gouging going on? Dealer markups, etc?

No price gouging - Penske is holding the smart centers to that. Haven't heard that anyone's actually had a car delivered for purchase yet; maybe in the next couple of days. Hang in there.

The only price gouging is what we did to our selfs by causing more demand then product... A lot of folks here are tickled pink at MSRP pricing.... not me .... I spent my life honing the skills to prevent dealers getting MSRP out of my pockets.. dang! This car is not a Schmart buy for me

So no haggling? The dealers won't cave on lowering the price? That's no fun but should save some time at the dealership at least ;)
